Affiliation
Fairy Tail
Asa Celestial Spirit mage, Lucy has the ability to acquire her spirits’ powers by placing their gate key on her chest and donning their Star Dress. In her Star Dress: Virgo Form, Lucy gains access to Virgo’s innate Earth Magic powers, albeit at a slightly lower intensity.
In this form, Lucy has been witnessed using Virgo’s Spica Hole and Diver spells, effectively manipulating the ground below her and her enemies. Since Earth Magic isn’t Lucy’s innate power, her renditions of Virgo’s spells are extremely limited and weak compared to the original.
12 Golden Zodiac Spirits
Based on the maiden’s constellation, Virgo embodies her celestial roots in all the right ways. Since her constellation represents Demeter, the Goddess of Harvestinitially known as the Earth Goddess, Virgo’s primary powers rely on Earth Magic. However, her arsenal isn’t quite versatile, since most of her abilities revolve around creating holes in the ground, similar to a mole.
Virgo’s most common spell is Diver, a power that allows her to dig through the ground at high speeds. Her more potent spells are Spica Lock and Spica Hole, two abilities that restrain enemies by creating holes beneath them. The name “Spica” is another nod toVirgo’s celestial origins, as Spica is the name of the brightest star in the Virgo Constellation.
Phantom Lord
With an eccentric persona and a cunning disposition, Sol was one of the four S-Class mages that comprised Phantom Lord’s Element 4. During their siege of Fairy Tail’s headquarters, Sol showcased immense prowess as an Earth Magic user, though he was eventually defeated by Elfman in a dramatic battle.
Sol possessed a large arsenal of Earth-based attacks, ranging from a simple barrage of rocks to his finishing move that sealed his opponents in stone for all eternity. Sol wasn’t above using back-handed tactics either, as he utilized an Earth statue to mimic Lisanna’s appearance, effectively forcing Elfman to lower his guard. Despite his S-Class status, Sol was eventually defeated by a reawakenedElfman in his demon form.
Crime Sorciere, Oracion Seis (Formerly)
Introduced under the codename “Hoteye” duringthe Oracion Seis arc, Richard Buchanan is one ofFairy Tail’s many villains who were redeemed down the line. Most of his abilities were witnessed in his fight against Jura Neekis, with Earth Magic being his primary power. With the spell Liquid Ground, Richard can control the density of the ground below, in turn softening the Earth to a considerable degree.
With this ability, Richard can trap multiple opponents on the ground with ease, though his magic was countered by Jura’s power to harden the ground and erect rock pillars. After Nirvana’s activation, Richard was drawn toward light and moral goodness, resulting in him forgoing his villainous ideals. He later joined Crime Sorciere with the rest of the former Oracion Seis members as a vigilante mage.
Lamia Scale
Dubbed Iron Rock Jura by the masses, Jura Neekis is one of the most powerful mages in the entire series, a fact that is backed by his title of Wizard Saint. Despite his associationwith Lamia Scale, Jura has made countless appearances inFairy Tail, each time showcasing his destructive Earth Magic powers.
Capable of hardening the ground at will, Jura employs his magic to erect rock-hard pillars from the ground, a technique that can be used both defensively and offensively. With ultimate control over the element, Jura can crush mountains and launch the debris at his opponents, all through a mere flick of his wrist. With such devastating powers at his disposal, Jura rightfully holds the title of thefifth-strongest Wizard Saint of Ishgar.
Five Dragon Gods
Fairy Tail’s 100 Year Questsequel has introduced all manner of powerful characters, and Dogramag stands as one of the strongest among these names. Known as the Earth Dragon God, Dogramag was one of the Six Dragon Gods that fled to Guiltina in fear of Acnologia, though he was supposedly slain by Elefseria later on. It was later revealed that Dogramag merely went into a state of slumber for over 100 years.
With Earth Dragon Slayer Magic as his primary power, Dogramag’s Earth element is extremely durable, and any manifestations formed by his magic are immune to fire or other destructive blasts. After he was supposedly killed by Elefseria, Dogramag merged with the ground, and his overwhelming power led to the formation of the Great Labyrinth of Dogra. The destructive nature of his power is truly god-like, as Dogramag can create fissures in the ground to trap his opponents, essentially suffocating them to their demise.
