In the latest100 Year Questrun, Natsu and company travel to Ishgar todefeat the Five Dragon Gods, and that’s where White Magic is formally introduced to the plot. 5White Shrine Grand Priestess
An Ancient And Wise White Magic User
The White Shrine Grand Priestess is the leader of the Whiteout Temple Shrine Maidens. She is a nameless and ageless White Magic user, a resident of Eleantar, and coordinator of the efforts of all Whiteout magicians to stabilize the magic of that world. When the Dragon God Selene secluded herself in that world and shifted the balance of magic in the hopes of destroying the other Dragon Gods and preventing the Dragon God King Festival, the Shrine Maiden chief sent Faris to Earthland to thwart her plans.
The full amount of her powers remains unknown, but it is said during the encounter Natsu and his friends have with her during the100 Year Questthat she was one ofthe most powerful magic users of that world.
4Duke Barbaroa
Guild Master And Impostor
The Leader of the Alchemist Guild Golden Owl, is, in fact, just a disguise, a homunculus created by Dragon God Viernes to pose as a proxy while he cooks his plans. Both the real Duke and the impostor have quite a strong affinity for White Magic, being able to twist the minds of the people around them.
He is also a powerful Whiteout user, a magic spell that allows White Mages to drain magic from their opponents and steal it. On top of that, he is an accomplished master of the alchemical arts, and he was able to create a weapon-like homunculus called Athena with the means to destroy all Dragon Gods.
3Athena
A Weaponized Being And The Original White Wizard
An artificial being created with the sole purpose of destroying the Dragon Gods. Duke Barbaroa created this alchemical doll by command of Elesferia, with the hopes of destroying all dragons. She later was pulled off (or more like hidden away) due to her difficult-to-control power, which devastated Ishgar while she razed the land to exterminate all draconic beings.
At some point, she developed self-consciousness, and her desire to become a human being led her to form the White Cult Rebellious, and she was the first to have the title of White Wizard. Afterward, she left, driven by the promise of the fake Duke Barbaroa (secretly Viernes) to help her become human. In terms of strength, Athena is tremendously powerful,more so than many White Magic users. That said, her inner desire not to hurt humans anymore and her naive personality has severely nerfed said powers. Viernes knew this and took advantage of her vulnerability to create a new and empowered version of Athena.
2Faris
A Visitor From Another World And An Adept White Magic User
Faris, the “imposter” White Wizard, is actually one of the most powerful mages in existence. Originally from Eleantar (not the Faris from Earth Land, who is actually the new Dark Wizard), Faris traveled to Earth Land on the bequest of Selene and the Shrine Maiden Chief to use her Whiteout magic to balance out the magic de-stabilization phenomenon by deleting Earthland’s magic power.
She landed in Fiore, and while Natsu and company were traveling to Ishgar, she used her Whiteout magic to take over the whole Fairy Tail guild, easily overpowering some of the most powerful mages on the continent. So, in terms of raw power, she is even superior to Laxus, Makarov, and the entirety of the Fairy Tail guild.Dealing with her was tremendously difficultfor the Fairy Tail members on the100 Years Quest, since she used the Whited-out members to hunt them down. Faris is also capable of using transformation magic to take over the body of Touka and is said to possess immense magical power, thanks to her stealing ability.
1Dark Athena
The Most Powerful White Magic User So Far
Athena II (or Dark Athena) is an improved version of the original alchemical doll. This time, she was created by the Dragon God Viernes to overpower the rest of his kin and the humans and take over the world. When Dark Athena emerged, she proved to be far superior than the original in both physical strength and magical power, and she was even able to use the Whiteout White Magic.
In terms of strength, Athena II can easily overpower Natsu and the crew, and since (besides her White Magic and ability to manipulate emotions) she carries a ton of magical weaponry embedded in her body, fighting her is like trying to stop the force of nature itself. Luckily, the original Athena managed to protect them while sacrificing her body, which was taken over by Viernes. Dark Athena was disconnected permanently, and later, it was the original Athena who took her body and used it to helpNatsu and friends fight the Dragon God.
