Summoners War Content Plans

Summoners War’s 10th-anniversary celebrations are well underway, and with PC players able to enjoy themobile RPGthanks to a Steam release earlier this year, there should be plenty of gamers celebrating this large milestone. While Kim hopes there will one day be a “fantastic 20th anniversary” forSummoners War, he emphasized the current focus is more on “creating and developing more high-quality content” for the game as it stands today versus any 5 or 10-year content plan. Kim also identified content as the most critical factor in makingSummoners Wara “more fascinating and enjoyable game” by “upgrading existing content and introducing new ones.” As Kim said:

To be honest, I don’t think I can foresee what will happen in five or ten years. Rather than building a broad vision for the next ten years and servicing the game live, we are currently focusing on how we can improve the existing game. We are focusing more on upgrading existing content and refining features that users find inconvenient. Rather than contemplating massive, game-changing adjustments, our current goal is to strengthen and grow what we have done effectively thus far.

Summoners War: two teams are fighting

Kim further explained that some of the current focus points include improvingSummoners War’s Seige Battle content, a type ofguildbattle between three guilds. Kim explained the plan is to develop multiple updates to “introduce diverse changes and provide users with fresh experiences.” However, he also said that the team is “approaching new content with caution” and plans to introduce new and entertaining experiences carefully to avoid fatigue. For instance, Kim detailed other planned improvements while keeping player feedback in mind. As Kim explained:

We wish to improve the game by rearranging the victory point structure, upgrading rewards, and introducing strategic research functions, so that players who play the Siege Battle in depth have a more enjoyable experience. We will continue to listen to user feedback and make modifications based on internal evaluation.

Summoners War’s Challenge Of Ascension

Summoners Warcan feel like achallenging RPGwith a high learning curve for some players. Consequently, Kim explained the reasoning behind the most recently added PVE in-game challenge toSummoners Warcalled the Challenge of Ascension. He explained how this is designed to retain the fun of a classic turn-based RPG, which became rare as the game’s service duration lengthened and content became increasingly difficult. As Kim went on to explain:

…as the service duration lengthened, it would become increasingly difficult to give the fun of a classic turn-based RPG. Following these concerns, we recently added the Challenge of Ascension content to provide Summoners a new and demanding experience. It would be great if Summoners could once again feel challenge and adventure inSummoners War, despite the high difficulty level.

Excitedly, Kim also revealed that the team will “soon be able to introduce new content that we’ve been working on for a while.” Overall, it sounds like fans have much to look forward to when it comes to fresh content that adds depth to theSummoners Waruniverse.
