Sword of Convallaria: For This World of Peaceis a brand-new gacha game boasting a pixelated art style andgrid-based tactical RPG combatin the vein ofFinal Fantasy Tactics. Players looking to invest time and effort into SoC will want to know the details of how the banner system works, which characters are worth pulling for, and whatSword of Convallaria’spity system entails.

Unlike some other gacha games likeGenshin Impact,Honkai Star Rail, andWuthering Waves,Sword of Convallariahandles pity a bit differently. There are two main types of pity in this game: Universal Pity and Banner-specific Pity. Here is how they work.

How Does Universal Pity Work in Sword of Convallaria

Universal Pity is a form of account-wide pity that ticks up any time the summoning action is performed viaSecret Fates. Whenever a player pulls on any banner in the Summoning menu, regardless of whether it’s the standard banner, single rate-up, double rate-up, or weapon banner, Universal Pity accumulates in the background. Once this counter reaches 100, players are guaranteed to obtain a Legendary (SSR) character or weapon, depending on the banner. Universal Pity will reset whenever a player obtains a Legendary character or weapon, regardless of the banner where this happens.

Players can check current Universal Pity any time by opening History in the Summon tab.

How Does Banner-Specific Pity Work in Sword of Convallaria

Other than event banners, there are five different banners players can summon from. Each one has its own version of pity which is exclusive to each banner and does not transfer over to the others.

Guaranteed First Summon Banner

Exclusively available for new accounts, the First Summon Banner only allows players to perform three ten-pulls before disappearing. A Legendary character is guaranteed on the third ten-pull, but if one is obtained beforehand, the banner will expire early.

Single Rate-Up Banner Pity (Debut Banner)

The Debut Banner offers a 50% chance for players to obtain the rate-up character whenever a Legendary character is obtained from this banner. However, if you pull a non rate-up Legendary from the banner, it’s not guaranteed that the second Legendary you obtain from the same banner will be the rate-up character. Players are only guaranteed to obtain the banner featured Legendary on the 180th summon.

Double Rate-Up Banner Pity (Destined Banner)

The Destined Banner promises a 75% chance to obtain one of the two Legendaries featured on the banner on the 180th pull. Players cannot decide which of the two they would prefer to obtain; it is completely up to chance. UnlikeGenshin ImpactorHSR, there are no Constellations or similar mechanics that incentivize pulling duplicates. SinceSword of Convallariadoesn’t offer a guarantee that you won’t obtain a duplicate of the same rate-up Legendary twice from the double rate-up banner, pulling on the double rate-up banner is even more of a gamble.

Standard Banner: Fateful Summon

All currently released characters are in the pool of possible characters players can obtain when pulling from this banner. Since there is no rate-up, the chance of obtaining Gloria is the same as the chance of obtaining Rawiyah, Col, or Dantalion.

Standard Banner: Mighty Weapon

Players will be able to obtain Legendary weaponsvia in-game missions and progress. Pulling on this banner is not recommended for F2P players looking to maximize their gains.
