Summary
The third season ofThat Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slimecontinues, with Rimuru getting officially crowned the head of the Jura Forest. With various races coming to give respects to their new leader, Rimuru winds up hearing that the elves are looking for members of their village who left to find work and have yet to return, prompting an investigation into a slave trade being orchestrated by various leaders in Ballachia. However, this and various others were thwarted by the efforts of the Lightspeed Hero, the Chosen Hero and Otherworlder, Masayuki Honjō.

Ever since his arrival, Masayuki Honjō has experienced an uncanny amount of luck. From easily defeating hardened warriors and criminals despite lacking combat experience, Masayuki’s Chosen One Unique Skill is one that gives himincredible “main character” energy. He first develops the Skill when, soon after his arrival to the Central World, he tried to save a young woman from being attacked by a towering man. When his Unique Skill activated, it granted him the ability to understand the language, as well as granted him an intimidating aura dubbed “Heroic Presence”. Despite being unarmed, he was able to protect the woman, and inflict a knock-out blow to the assailant. When the attacker came to, he apologized for underestimating Masayuki and introduced himself as Jinrai the Mad Wolf.

Up until that point, Jinrai used his strength to terrorize normal people, but due to the effect of Chosen One, he immediately turned over a new leaf and asked to become Masayuki’s subordinate. Wherever Masayuki went, he happened to thwart some kind of major threat, and gained a lot of support, admiration and even a number of close allies, all of whom once underestimated his ability. In combat situations, the Chosen One Unique Skill turns any attack into a critical hit, which explains the ease with which Masayuki defeats his opponents, but beyond that, it grants an incredible morale boost to his allies, making their battles smooth sailing as well. The Skill is effectively the ability tounconsciously affect one’s own luck, and it is by no means a subtle increase in one’s fortune, as it also brings with it an auspiciousness to the user that makes him incredibly charismatic and capable of moving people with just his actions.

When it comes to Unique Skills, Chosen One is very rare according to Yuuki Kagurazaka, making Masayuki the fastest individual in history to reach A-Rank, and became a Hero in one year. Due to his “lightning-fast” sword strikes, Masayuki Honjo has been dubbed “The Lightspeed Hero”, not to mention that regardless of what he does, Masayuki’s words and actions make people view him as a heroic figure all on their own. Seeing thepotential in this incredible Unique Skill, Yuuki enlisted Masayuki’s party to take down a criminal organization called Orthrus, a slave trading syndicate that smuggle magic beasts, drugs, and even people.
Yuuki managed to track down the heart of their operation to the Kingdom of Ballachia. He asks Masayuki’s group to accompany investigators to Ballachia to distract the country’s leadership while the investigators gather evidence. They arrive in the kingdom and are treated to a huge feast with various important-looking people in attendance.

Masayuki leaves the festivities to find a bathroom and walks in on two high-ranking officials, Count Braver and Duke Göthel in the middle of signing a slave trade contract. Göthel attempts to frame Masayuki by killing Braver and tossing the murder weapon over to the Hero before calling for his guards, but they’re dispatched by Masayuki’s friends, who are quickly able to interpret the circumstances and even revive Braver to use his testimony against Göthel.
On top of that, the King of Ballachia just happened to show up and witness the commotion, leading to the swift arrest of the two officials, as well as the revelation of irrefutable proof thatOrthrus was based in Ballachia. The entire organization was swiftly decimated, slaves freed and Masayuki’s reputation spread even further. However, he will definitely have his luck cut out for him with the next task given to him by the King of Ballachia: accompany the freed Elves on their return to the Jura Forest. Word spread, and now a lot of people think Masayuki is going to Tempest to defeat Rimuru.
