How to Beat Pyromaniac in The First Descendant
The Pyromaniac is thesixth Void Intercept boss, and beating him is the only way to progress in the main storyline and unlock the Hagios Region inThe First Descendant. Unlike other Void Intercept bosses, the Pyromaniac also has a higher resistance to most weapon damageand is more vulnerable to skill damage from Descendants.
Pyromaniac Resistances
The Pyromaniac is one of the few Void Intercept bosses that has a lot of literal firepower. There are multiple fire-based attacks in its arsenal, thus having fire resistance is a must to survive in this battle. You’ll needat least 2,100 Fire Resistance statsto tank most of the attacks from this boss. Consequently, you’ll also have to bring weapons withCold ATK modifiersto deal additional element damage with your attacks.
Pyromaniac Weak Points
Even though this boss is resistant to weapon damage, you can still target certain parts of its body to deal extra damage, oreven stagger the boss occasionally. Not only is the Pyromaniac Colossus similar to the Executioner in design, but it also shares many of its attacks. While you can dodge most of these attacks with the right timing, some of them are unavoidable, making them tough to counter. Apart from these attacks, you’ll also have tolook out for Flame Chains that regularly spawnacross the battlefield. These chains expand in circumference,deal massive damage, and inflict burn debuffs. Try to stay as far away from them as possible.
Pyromaniac Rage Mode
Like every other Void Intercept boss, the Pyromaniac also has an Enraged State, but this one is quite easy to handle if you can act quickly. During this boss fight, multiple mobs called Hummingbirds will spawn behind the Pyromaniac and fill up its rage gauge. You can target them todelay the onset of the Rage Mode.
Once the Pyromaniac enters the Enraged State, it will become immune to all damage, but a red canister can be seen on its back which is vulnerable to damage.Destroying this canister ends the Rage Mode, so the faster you can do that, the better it is for you.
