Summary

Nexon provided patch notes for hotfix 1.0.7 forThe First Descendant,a larger update that makes big changes to the game including difficulty, balancing, battle pass challenges, and more. The latest update forThe First Descendantshouldn’t be too surprising for players, as Nexon has made sure to keep the popular free-to-play live service title patched up on a semi-consistent basis. Alongside larger updates, Nexon continues to release frequent hotfixes, aimed at addressing bugs and other painpoints impacting the community.

Unlike many others live service titles, Nexon has made a point to balancing gameplay elements in favor of players instead of nerfing weapons, gear, or activities which are deemed overly powerful. For example, whenThe First Descendantreceived its first major mid-season update, numerous activities were buffed with better rewards to match a recently discovered activity which players had begun using to farm for XP and materials. While the most recent hotfix isn’t adding much in the way of new content, it continues the trend Nexon began at launch by putting players first by changing parts of the game that players don’t like.

The latest update forThe First Descendant, hotfix 1.0.7, is more gameplay focused than previous patches, making numerous bug fixes and adding plenty of improvements to the game’s content. In terms of quality of life changes, players now have two restart options for Void Intercept Battles, Special Operations and Infiltration Operations, either alone or with the current squad. In addition, Nexon has simplified theAmorphous Materials display inThe First Descendantwhen using a Reconstructing Device, letting players quickly check the materials.

In addition to various bug and UI fixes, the healer Yujin has also seen a number of buffs in this update. Specifically, Nexon corrected his Recovery tooltip to now match the improvements made inUpdate 1.0.6 forThe First Descendant. Alongside that, the Recovery skill’s ability has also been slightly increased at Rank 4.

The Battle Pass has also seen a few changes in this hotfix, namely, the “Wouldn’t It Hurt More If My Rifle Fired Harder?” challenge in the Week 6 list has had its requirements tweaked to now enhance reinforcement to level 3. Also, the Weekly Challenges for weeks 7 and 8 have had their difficulty reduced, while the amount of EXP and Supply Coins were increased for completing them.

While this update may not be the most exciting one, compared to 1.5, players do have plenty to look forward to based onThe First Descendant’s content roadmap. Season 1: Invasion should be kicking off sometime this month, with 3 major updates planned including another new Descendant, skins, weapons, and seasonal progressions all planned. Players shouldn’t have to wait too much longer as Season 1 appears likely to begin in full later this month.
