Rolling out in three separate updates, the first part ofThe First Descendant’s first season, dubbed ‘Invasion,’ will launch onAugust 29 on all platforms(PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5). While Nexon Games' third-person looter-shooter’s player base has significantly dropped since its launch back in late June, there’s still a dedicated audience that’s logging in daily to earn better loot, play with their buds, and get those damage numbers as high as possible. And with the upcoming update, there’s much more stuff to look forward to, like unique challenges, a new boss, weapons, a new Descendant, and more.
When is Season 1 of The First Descendant?
As mentioned,Season 1 ofThe First Descendantwill begin on June 03, 2025. Nexon has not said just how long the season will last, but players can look forward to two more updates to come as part of theInvasion season. The second one will be released on September 26, and the third on October 30.
What’s New in The First Descendant’s Invasion Season?
Invasion Event
The main thing to come as part of the new season are theInvasion Events. you’re able to enter a dungeon and choose the Invasion event. These are special dungeons that can only be played solo and will have different puzzles that feel different from the main story dungeons, and you’ll need to kill enemies as fast as possible to clear them.
New Descendant
Hailey Scott, a legendary sniper, will join the roster of Descendants. For more info on her skills, check out the table below:

Cryo Round
Instantly fires a Cryo Round that automatically tracks the enemy, deals damage and inflicts ‘Cryo’ which deals Additional Damage along with Hailey’s Firearm Damage.
Storm Snare
Fires a Freezing Beam that unleashes a Chill Vortex around you and knocks back enemies. Inflicts ‘Cryo’ on enemies that take Damage.
Cold Fury
Hailey’s Movement Speed gradually decreases, but her Firearm and Skill Critical Hit Rate, and Firearm Penetration all increase significantly.
Zenith
Replaces Hailey’s weapon with her Unique Weapon, anti-material Sniper Cannon. Penetration of the anti-material Sniper Cannon and Firearm ATK greatly increase and deal additional Chill skill damage. Recovers MP upon successfully attacking Weak Points and decreases the Cooldown the more Bullets you have remaining when the skill ends.
Inversion Reinforcer
This one is a little complicated to understand, but essentially, once you clear those Invasion Event dungeons that we talked about before, you should earnIronheart Particles. you may use these items to gain new abilities that improve your Descendant’s strength, such as gaining higher recovery or Attribute Resistance.
