Summary

Though the vast majority of players will never actively think about them, just about every video game has a set of dos and don’ts that players follow to maximize their efficiency during gameplay. Theseunwritten rulesare particularly prominent in online multiplayer games, where there are certain unspoken expectations placed on teammates. Though it’s only a week old,Concordalready has its own set of unwritten rules.

While its player count is dropping rapidly by the day,Concordis far from a bad game, and when it inevitably goes free-to-play or joins PlayStation Plus, newcomers might finally be tempted to give the hero shooter a go. If that happens, there are some aforementioned unwritten rules that new players should be aware of, most of which will be familiar to fans of games likeOverwatch.

Concord’s Unwritten Rules Explained

Don’t Fly Solo

Many ofConcord’s game modesencourage teams to split off at the start of the match to reach multiple objectives at once, or to kill as many enemy players as they can as fast as possible. But even with this inherent encouragement, players should try to verify they’re staying close to at least one other teammate. Flying solo inConcorddoesn’t usually turn out too well, as even the most skilled players can’t often win a fight against two enemy players at once, especially if one of them is playing as a tank with more health and a higher damage output. The best way to avoid these overwhelming odds is to stick close with the rest of the team.

Make Sure There’s At Least One Healer on The Team

Concordhas a severe lack of healers at launch, with Jabali and Daw being the only two Freegunners with abilities that can actively heal teammates. This is particularly rough as having a healer on the team is a necessity inConcord. Unlike inOverwatch 2, there’s no passive health regeneration for players when they’re out of combat, meaning that pickups are the only way to regain lost health if a healer isn’t on the team. It’s therefore extremely important for everyConcordteam to bring a healer into battle, to ensure that the team survives just that little bit longer.

Make Use of Concord’s Practice Range

The first step to success in any hero shooter is learning every character’s abilities. Even if players are only drawn to one character on the roster, they should spend the time learning everyone’s skills so that they know what they’re going up against.Concord’s Practice Rangeis the ideal place to do just that, allowing players to freely swap to any of the game’s 16 playable Freegunners in an instant.

InConcord’s Practice Range, players can slowly get to grips with eachFreegunner’s primary weapon, their active abilities, their passive abilities, and their unique form of mobility, all without the pressure of real players hunting them down or expecting them to complete objectives.Concordthrows a lot at the player right out of the gate, and spending an hour or two learning the game’s core mechanics should be the very first thing that newcomers do to prepare themselves for the rest of whatConcordhas to offer.
