7 Days To Dieis a zombie-infested world where players will need to work against the clock to prepare for hordes of angry enemies every 7 days. This game is filled with places to explore, enemies to kill, and lots of missions to complete. When loading in for the first time, it can be a little overwhelming to decide what to do first.
Every minute counts in7 Days To Die,so players should do their best to really maximize their efficiency. Surviving against zombie hordes isn’t easy. Even on the game’s lowest difficulty setting, zombies are fast and hard-hitting. The small tips featured on this list can help players make it through the first few days alive.
7The Spear Is Better Than The Club
Keep Zombies At Bay
Very early on, players are prompted to craft a wooden club. Because of this, a lot of new players think that it’s the better weapon to use in the early stages, but it’s not. While the club can be an effective weapon, players will need to be closer to the enemy in order to strike them. The spear allows players to maintain a little more distancewhile taking down zombies.
With a bit of practice, the player can use a spear to hit enemies while remaining out of their reach. Getting hit by an enemy can stun the player. Should the player get hit and stunned while being chased by multiple zombies, then their chances of survival aren’t great.
6Look For Hidden Loot
Lots Of Extra Valuable Just Waiting To Be Found
Loot is everywhere in7 Days To Die.When entering any POI (point of interest), players will be able to empty cabinets, coolers, and more. However, more often than not, a POI will have hidden loot that some players will completely miss.
It’s always worth looking on ledges, behind paintings, and underneath loose floorboards. These hidden areas can have anything from a backpack to a safe in them. It’s not uncommon to find some pretty valuable items tucked away out of sight.
Avoid Nighttime Zombies
If the player is using the default settings, thenzombies will run between 10 pm and 4 am.This makes them much deadlier. While it may betempting to stay out and loot one more building, the more sensible thing to do is head back to base.
Being caught out in the dark can be a scary experience, especially if the player is over-encumbered. When it comes to loot, it’s not going anywhere. So, there’s no need to rush through that extra building for goodies and run the risk of being stuck in the middle of nowhere surrounded by running zombies.
4Always Carry Bandages
Bleeding Out Is Not Ideal
Any strike has the potential to inflict bleed damage on the player. That said, dogs are notorious for causing players to bleed. The bleed-out effect can be deadly. So, it’s worth keeping a few bandages on hand to reduce the chances of dying while exploring.
Ideally, players should try to use medicated bandages. But, if they don’t have any, then a regular bandage will do the trick. Bandages are helpful for getting players out of sticky situations, so it’s always worth having some on the player’s toolbar for emergencies.
3Set Up A Base Close To The Trader
Complete Missions Quicker
Doing missions early on is great for leveling up, earning rewards, and making some extra Dukes. For the first few weeks, it may be a good idea to build a base fairly close to a trader. If the player is close to a trader, then they will be able tocomplete more missions in a dayand will be able tomake more Dukesby selling their excess items.
It is important to note that trader settlements close through the night. So, it’s a bad idea to try and wait out the night inside a traders' compound. But, try to be based within a few hundred feet of the trader to make completing missions more efficient.
2Stick To The Forest
The Easiest Biome To Call Home
Each biome is fraught with danger. That said, some biomes are much more dangerous than others. The easiest biome to live in is the forest region. There are lots of trees, plenty of rock and ore deposits to mine, and some fairly low-level POIs that players can explore.
While it is possible to start the early game in any region, the forest is by far the easiest place to live.Something else that helps make the forest a great place to call home is the weather. Most other biomes have extreme weather that willforce players to find/purchase gearthat is specially suited to withstand cold or hot areas.
1Nerd Pole To Make Things Easier
Always Carry A Handful Of Building Cubes
One of the game’s most basic blocks is the standard building cube. These cubes are cheap to craft, and they can be picked up after they’ve been placed down. Players should attempt to keep a handful of these cubes in their toolbar at all times.
These cubes can come in handy in more than one situation. First, if there are a few zombies around, simply jump and place down two cubes. From here, the player will be able to hit the zombies from above without being hurt. Just be sure to repair the blocks every few seconds to prevent the zombies from breaking them.
The other use for these cubes is known as nerd poling. More often than not, there will be some nice loot on the roofs of buildings. Instead of having to clear out the interior to get to the top, the player can just jump and place down these cubes and go straight to the top of the building.
