The price increase on iOS and Android is a way to offset the fees levied by Apple and Google ondevelopers who use the App Storeand Google Play Store. Twitch clarified that this mobile price increase is the same one that already took place on desktop browsers, as opposed to a new one altogether.
Despite a few users reiterating that the hike is intended to bring the desktop and mobile subscription prices in line, the move from Twitch was met with wide disapproval on social media.
