Persona 5 Royaltakes many steps in making Social Links a better use of the player’s timebeyond just fusion XPand party members being more useful in combat. With every few ranks of a confidant, a new perk is learned that benefits each of the various gameplay mechanics in the real world and the Metaverse.
Some confidants are automatic and will level up while you progress through the story, though many will require you to spend your free time handing out with those characters. Here is what day every confidant is unlocked and how to unlock them.

Makoto Niijima (Priestess)

Found in Shinjuku, you’ll need to purchase the Holy Stone from Chihaya for100,000 Yenthen go back another day to get a Mementos request, and after completing the request the confidant will begin.
Caroline & Justine (Strength)

This social link begins after the twins make the fusion request on 5/18 and Joker brings them the correct Persona.
Munehisa Iwai (Hanged Man)

RequiresRank 4 Guts- Talk to Iwai andask him about the gun in the paper bag.
Tae Takemi (Death)
Unlocks automatically after visiting the clinic to buy medicine, Rank 2 of the confidantrequires Rank 2 Gutsto proceed.

Requires Rank 3 Guts - Call Kawakamiusing the phone downstairs in Leblancin the evening.

Shinya Oda (Tower)
9/4
Mishima will tell Joker about therequest “Winners Don’t Use Cheats"on 9/4. Talk to gamers in the arcade in Shibuya to get the request in Mementos against an enemy you won’t be able to beat. You’ll then hear about the King Of Gun About who is Shinya, who will request that you prove you know the Phantom Thieves. Talk to Futaba to hack the Gun About website then the confidant will officially begin once you talk to Shinya again.
Hifumi Togo (Star)
Get Yusuke to Rank 2 and he will mention a Shogi playerwho plays at the church. Beginning the social link will requireRank 3 Charmto get her attention and begin the confidant.
Toranosuke Yoshida (Sun)
Yoshida can first be found on 5/6 where Joker can listen to his speech and ask how he can help out. You’ll then need to work two shifts at the Beef Bowl shop Ore-no-Beko. you’re able to get a job here byfinding a flyer in the Shibuya Underground, and during the second shift, Yoshida will appear and invite you to help at his next speech, where the confidant officially begins.
