Patrick Dempsey is one of the busiest actors around in Hollywood at the moment. Before he was cast inDexter: Original Sin, there had been rumors that he could be set to return to a franchise he originally appeared in nearly 25 years ago. Dempsey played Detective Mark Kincaid inScream 3back in 2000, and was a fan favorite, after he helped Sidney, Dewey and Gale defeatRoman Bridger’s Ghostface killer.
Despite Kincaid’s popularity with the fan base, this was the last time he was seen in the long-running horror franchise. However, inScream (2022), it was revealed the iconic final girl, Sidney Prescott, had married Mark Kincaid off-screen and had three children with him, which raised speculation that he might return to play the character in a future installment.
