It would make sense ifthe truth about the Upside Downgot out and everyone was aware of the danger in Hawkins. If this is the storyline thatStranger Thingsseason 5 follows, thenthere would be other interdimensional monsters that the characters have to fight off. These monsters would also likely exist globally, since it wouldn’t be possible to contain the threat to Hawkins anymore. This would be a smart way to raise the stakes and create more fear.
In the final scene ofStranger Thingsseason 4, Eleven and the other main characters stand around as a dark wind sweeps into town. This seems to suggest that evil is on its way (or already here) and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it. Now that the characters knowhow Vecna picks who he’s going to kill, they’re even more aware of the battle they’re facing. Either way,the residents of Hawkins will have to work together if they want to live, and they might set up in camp since the homes, schools, and other buildings have been destroyed by the many creatures. This would feel like the right tone forStranger Thingsseason 5 since it seems like the story has been building up to this point.
Since some fans are unsure about therumoredStranger Thingsseason 5 time jump, having the episodes take place after the world has ended would make the time jump more effective. It would be less alarming to see how much time has passed between seasons since the setting would be so different.
How Can Stranger Things Season 5 Address Season 4’s Ending Without The Apocalypse?
