World of Warcrafthas partnered up with Discord to offer the Parrlok pet as a Quest reward. From now through September 8, players who stream 15 minutes ofWorld of Warcraftthrough Discord’s Screen Share function can obtain this free and exclusive in-game item to celebrate the launch ofThe War Within.
Quests are a new feature Discord introduced near the end of Marchwhere fans can earn rewards by playing or streaming specific games through the app. Though the bounties vary between Quests, completing them often grants cosmetics for Discord or items for use in the game itself.
Now,World of Warcrafthas officially revealed its first Discord Quest to celebrate the launch ofThe War Within, the newest expansion. From now through September 8, players who accept this Quest can obtain Parrlok, a recolor of the Marrlok andGarrlok ogre pets from the Trading Post inWoW. To do so, they must streamWorld of Warcraftto at least one friend through Discord in a DM, group chat, or server for 15 minutes, after which they will be given a code to redeem through the Battle.net app to obtain their pet.
Despite this Quest being offered in celebration ofthe start ofWoW: The War Within’s early access,fans don’t need to play the new expansion in order to get this pet. AllWorld of Warcraftplayers can qualify for this Quest, even if they haven’t purchasedThe War Withinyet.
This isn’t the only free rewardWoWfans can look forward to.World of Warcraftrecently revealed a new Twitch Dropin the form of the Ghastly Charger – a former TCG mount worth around $1,400 – which players can start earning after the official launch ofThe War Withinon August 26.
