The War Within, the 10thWorld of Warcraftexpansion and the first of the Worldsoul saga, is officially live, bringing with it a bunch of new content. There are plenty of things to be excited about in the expansion, but one of its headlining features is the Earthen – the stone dwarves native to the continent of Khaz Algar, andWorld of Warcraft’s newest allied race.
Now,World of Warcrafthas revealed exactly when players can fulfill the requirements to unlock this new allied race. In order to play as an Earthen, one must finish the story ofThe War Within, including its max-level campaign, and complete three side story questlines that explore their culture further. However, the final chapters of the endgame campaign are not yet available in the game.On the officialWoWforum, community manager Kaivax confirmed the last part of this campaign will become available on September 3, allowing fans to finally unlock the Earthen.
Though reception to the Earthen was mixed when they were first announced, especially as a Horde race, many players have begun to warm up to the new allied race. This is in no small part due to the fantastic worldbuilding ofThe War Within, which fans will experience while completing the unlock requirements – not to mention the charmingnew dances they bring toWorld of Warcraft.
That said, some players are not happy they have to wait even longer to make an Earthen. The new allied race was originally listed as an early access perk, so having them released nearly two weeks later disappointed fans who hoped to make one sooner. At the very least, players can complete all the other requirements while they wait so that, once September 3 hits, they can be among thefirst Earthen to emerge from the Awakening Machine inWorld of Warcraft.
