A lucky fan recently received anXbox 360console, controller, and a handful of games completely free of charge. There seems to be an increased interest in theXbox 360as of late, seemingly fueled by Microsoft’s decision to shut down the console’s digital marketplace. This event has drummed up significant attention for the console, with many nostalgic gamers going out and getting used Xbox 360s to take a trip down memory lane.
The Xbox 360 is considered the high point of Microsoft’s console gaming pursuits. While it had some serious technical issues, like the Red Ring of Death, the Xbox 360 was still wildly popular and had an incredible library of games. There are many who consider the Xbox 360 their favorite console of all time, and for good reason.
Reddit user TrainsAndPonies was recently given a small Xbox 360 collection for free by someone close to them. Apparently, the original owners of the Xbox 360 and games were just planning on throwing them out. The haul came with anXbox 360 consolewith the necessary cables and a controller, plus nine games. A haul like this would typically cost a couple of hundred bucks at least, so it’s great that the Reddit user was able to get it all for free.

It will be interesting to see how long this increased interest in the Xbox 360 and its library of games continues. In the meantime, those that are interested in replaying some classic Xbox 360 games but don’t feel like getting an old console should note that many of its games are backward compatible on newer Xbox consoles. The full library isn’t playable on the latest Xbox systems, but some of the best games are part of the lineup, and in fact, there are many that arereadily available through Xbox Game Pass.
