XDefiantis a free-to-play arena shooter where teams of six compete in various game modes. The Team Rainbow faction was renamed GS-Kommando, and various faction abilities and weapons were tuned for better balance. Specific weapons like the M4A1 and MDR received damage and performance adjustments. Audio and graphical enhancements, as well as matchmaking improvements for high-ping players, were also part of this patch, along with various crash fixes.
On July 30, Ubisoft released the Y1S1.3 patch forXDefiant, which introduces several key updates aimed at improving gameplay and player experience. Notably, XP Boosters will no longer decrease in theXDefiant’s Practice Zone, and the vertical ADS sensitivity for controllers has been adjusted to provide a more consistent aiming experience across all directions. In Ranked mode, pre-game tweaks ensure matches won’t start without a full roster of eight players, and the Leave button has been removed from the map-voting screen to prevent players from leaving. Additionally, Capture the Flag (CTF) mode is now part of the Ranked play options.
For factions, Echelon’s Intel Suit now only reveals enemy positions through walls to the wearer, with other players only able to see these positions on their minimaps. DedSec’s spiderbots have been adjusted to only shock targets once they latch onto them, rather than before. Weapons have undergone various adjustments, with the Rapid Fire Barrel and Muzzle Booster attachments now correctly increasing recoil on certain weapons, like the ACR 6.8 and AK-47. Additionally,XDefiantshotgunshave received extensive tuning: the M870 and AA-12 now have increased effective ranges and reduced spread, while the Double Barrel and Sawed-Off Shotgun see improvements in range, ammo capacity, and spread control.

The Pistol Grip and PEQ-15 Laser attachments for shotguns also had their spread Min/Max bonus reduced from 20 to 15 percent.
Finally, all shotgun reticle blooms (visualized by the vertical and horizontal hash marks of the HUD reticule) are now enlarged slightly while leaping.
