Summary
YouTubecontent creator Amouranth has lost one of her YouTube channels to a ban. The content creator brought the issue to the attention ofYouTubesupport, but didn’t get the ending she was hoping for.
Amouranth is one of the most well-known streamers around. Over the years, the streamer has drummed up controversy as she’s pushed the boundaries of Twitch’s unclear policies, withAmouranth’s Twitch channel being bannedso frequently that some are surprised she’s been able to remain a partner on the platform. However, it seems this YouTube ban took her by surprise.
Amouranth’s Latest Ban Doesn’t Have Her Worried
Amouranth seems to be taking the banin stride, claiming in a later social media post that she “regrets nothing.” Her other channels on YouTube haven’t been taken down. However, YouTube also tends to be stricter with its bans than Twitch. While Twitch frequently bans people from the site for just days or even hours, YouTube bans are rarely lifted, especially once the company has confirmed it was an intentional action. As such, it’s unlikely that she’ll get this particular channel and its nearly 200 uploads back.
With that said, it’s no wonder that she’s not particularly flustered by this ban. Amouranth still has the rest of her Twitch, Kick, and YouTube streaming and content empire to fall back on, and she’s been outspoken about making a variety of investments into gas stations and eveneSports teamswith the money she’s made through her videos. Even if she were to have all of her channels removed from the web, she’d likely still have a very large nest egg to fall back on, and a variety of income streams still being delivered daily.
Although Amouranth doesn’t seem to be stressing over this incident, it’s just the latest indication of how streamers' futures can be determined entirely by the platform they’re on. Thankfully, the existence of Kick, Twitch, and YouTube allows streamers to not lose their entire audience if they’re banned on one particular network. However, it likely worries even some of themost popular streamersthat a wrong move could see their entire streaming career derailed.
